Description
Introduction
The USP Tactical is a modern pistol of German origin. It was developed in the 1990's by Heckler & Koch for special operations use. It fills the gap between the regular USP and the much larger and heavier Mk 23. The tall sights and extended threaded barrel add to the iconic looks.
Design
The USP Tactical is derived from the full size USP pistol. The USP Tactical features a longer threaded O-ring barrel, elevated adjustable sights and an adjustable trigger. The elevated sights allow for a good sight picture even when fitted with a suppressor.
Firepower
The USP Tactical fires the .45 ACP from a 12 round magazine. It is a semi-automatic pistol with an adjustable DA/SA trigger. Variants have been produced in .40 S&W and 9x19mm Parabellum. The O-ring barrel provides a level of accuracy that is nearly on par with a fixed barrel.
Users
The USP Tactical has been adopted by several military special forces units and law enforcement tactical teams in Europe, North America and Asia. It has proven to be a less cumbersome alternative to the Mk 23 SOCOM, while attaining nearly the same level of accuracy, ruggedness and reliability.
