Description

Introduction

The RBR M80 Zolja is a late Cold War era rocket launcher of Yugoslav origin. It was developed to supplement the RB M57 reusable rocket launcher. The official nickname Zolja translates to "wasp".

Design

The design of the RBR M80 is very similar to the American M72 LAW and Soviet RPG-18. It is a pre-packaged launcher with extensible launch tube. Before firing the launch tube must be extended and the sights are flipped up into position. After firing the launch tube is disposed.

Firepower

The RBR M80 has a single HEAT warhead which is able to penetrate up to 300 mm RHA. Maximum effective range is about 220 meters. The minimum range is 10 to 20 meters.

Users

The RBR M80 was adopted by Yugoslav forces and was used by all factions in the various conflicts following the break-up of Yugoslavia. The RBR M80 was also offered for export and is used in limited numbers by several nations around the world.
