Description

Introduction

The CC9 is a modern pistol of US origin. It is a micro-compact pistol aimed at the concealed carry market in the USA. The CC9 is the first Heckler & Koch firearm fully developed in the USA.

Design

The CC9 is a short recoil operated pistol using Browning style tilting barrel locking. It has a polymer frame and metal slide with rounded edges to reduce snagging. The iron sights have tritium inserts that glow in the dark and. All controls are ambidextrous. Unlike the more European style paddle release the CC9 uses a more American style button release for the double stack magazine.

Firepower

The CC9 fires the 9x19mm Parabellum round from 10 or 12 round magazines. The polygonal rifling retains as much velocity as possible from the short barrel. The tritium sights and ability to mount an optical sight allow for use of the CC9 in low light situations.

Users

The CC9 is mainly focused on the US civilian concealed-carry market. Although aimed at the civilian market, the CC9 could also be acquired for law enforcement service. For instance for plain clothes officers or as a back-up pistol as issued by some US law enforcement agencies. With the recent introduction there is no news yet of the CC9 in law enforcement or military service.
