Components of the TOS-1A system

BM-1

Launch vehicle of the TOS-1A system. This is an improved version of the earlier TOS-1 launch vehicle. It can be recognized by the 24 round launcher which is a bit longer than the older 30 round launcher.

TZM-T

Transloader based on T-72 tank chassis. This features a crane and two storage containers for a total of 24 missiles and a crane used for reloading the launch vehicles. The normal ratio is for one TZM-T to support up to four launch vehicles.

Variants of the MO.1.01.04 artillery rocket

MO.1.01.04: Artillery rocket with thermobaric warhead. This model is the shorter rocket that is also used by the original TOS-1 system. The effective range is rather short at 2.7 km. The TOS-1A is backwards compatible with these older rockets.

MO.1.01.04M: Newer and improved version of MO.1.01.04 artillery rocket. Developed specifically for use in the TOS-1A. This rocket is longer since it carries more fuel for the rocket motor. This results in a longer effective range of 6 km.
