The CZ 750 is a sniper rifle of Czech origin. It was developed by CZ in the early 2000's and remains in production today. The CZ 750 is suitable for most law enforcement agencies and standard military use. Special forces and counter terrorist units may have more stringent demands.
The CZ 750 is a tactical rifle based on the CZ 550 sporting rifle, not the earlier CZ 700 sniper rifle. The CZ 750 is a bolt action rifle with a conventional design. It looks quite similar to other weapons in its class such as the Remington M700. The CZ 750 features the long stroke Mauser-action. The CZ 750 differs from the CZ 550 sporting rifle in having a 10 round detachable magazine, heavier barrel, optional mirage band and synthetic thumbhole stock.
The CZ 750 fires the 7.62x51mm NATO round from a 10 round detachable box magazine. Accuracy is quite good and near that of a standard Remington 700P tactical rifle. The effective range is claimed to be 800 meters.
The CZ 750 is available for civilian use and market for law enforcement and military use. The main selling point of the CZ 750 is that it is cheaper than most of its competitors. The price performance ratio is very high, making it a good choice for law enforcement use. On the US market it sells for nearly half the price of a Remington 700P while delivering the same performance at short ranges.
The CZ 750 M1 S1 is the standard tactical rifle in the CZ 750 lineup. It features a heavy barrel and a bipod is fitted as standard. While accuracy is good, other elements such as the adjustable stock and trigger mechanism are prone to wear.
The CZ 750 M1 S2 is a silenced version of the CZ 750 M1 S1 tactical rifle. It features a shorter frame and barrel. Unlike most short and silenced sniper rifles it can be fired without the silencer attached to the barrel. The S2 model is very light and compact for a rifle with integrated silencer. While the silencer is smaller it is more audible than the long silencer of the CZ 700S.
In Czech army service the CZ 750 replaced the Soviet era Dragunov SVD sniper rifle.
