AS Val
The AS Val is a silenced assault rifle of Soviet origin. It was developed in the 1980's to be used in urban combat and the reconnaissance role. The name AS stands for "Avtomat Special'nyj", which is Russian for "special automatic rifle". The nickname "Val" means "shaft" and refers to the prominent silencer. The AS Val stems from the VSS Vintorez silenced sniper rifle and has a 70% parts commonality.
ZBD04A
The ZBD04A is a modern mechanized infantry combat vehicle of Chinese origin. The ZBD04A is the successor of the ZBD04 and trades in its amphibious capability for an increased protection level. Some sources use the name ZBD08 for this vehicle, but apparently that designation is not used by the PLA.
S-300V
The S-300V is a late Cold War era surface to air missile system of Soviet origin. It is a complex and capable system intended to protect army formations in the field from aerial threats and inbound cruise missiles and short range ballistic missiles. There are two NATO reporting names: SA-12A Gladiator for the smaller 9M83 missile and SA-12B Giant for the larger 9M82 missile. The GRAU index for the entire system is 9K81. The name S-300V refers to Vojska ("army") and ended up as a completely different design than the S-300P series developed for the air defense forces.
Rb 08
The Rb 08 is an early Cold War era anti-ship missile of Swedish origin. The design was derived from the French Nord Aviation CT.20 target drone. The Rb 08 was one of the first operational Western anti-ship missiles.
