Variants


Mk 26 GMLS variant

The first five ships were fitted with a Mk 26 Guided Missile Launching System (GMLS) twin arm missile launcher, one fore and and one aft. These ships were operated until 2005 and did not receive a service life extension.

Mk 41 VLS variant

The last 22 ships were built with two 61-cell Mk 41 Vertical Launch System (VLS). All ships in class have been, or will be, undergoing a service life extension with the scope varying per batch.
