Description

Introduction

The QBU10 is a modern era anti-materiel rifle of Chinese origin. The QBU10 was developed to provide the Chinese military with a similar capability as the Barrett M82A1 in use with many Western nations: a semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle.

Design

The QBU10 is a gas operated rifle with a fixed barrel. The QBU10 has a long barrel with large muzzle brake. Various types of advanced sight units have been trailed by Chinese forces. These combine a regular day sight with night vision sight and/or a laser range finder. A bipod and rear monopod provide a stable firing platform.

Firepower

The QBU10 fires the 12.7x108mm Soviet round from a 5 round detachable box magazine. The QBU10 is a semi-automatic rifle, allowing for rapid follow-up shots. Accuracy is reportedly slighly better than the Barrett M82A1, which is plausible since the QBU10 has a fixed barrel.

Users

The QBU10 seems to have become the standard issue anti-materiel rifle in Chinese service. The QBU10 is also available for export sales.
