Variants
RPK-74
Original and most common model of the RPK-74, at least until introduction of RPK-74M. Features a fixed wooden stock. A variant with side mount on the receiver for optical sights is called RPK-74N.
RPKS-74
Folding stock variant of the RPK-74 for troops requiring a more compact weapon, such as airborne forces. The wooden stock folds to the left hand side. A variant with side mount on the receiver for optical sights is called RPKS-74N.
RPK-74M
The RPK-74M is an improved model RPK-74 with the same features as the AK-74M. The wooden furniture has been replaced by a black plastic one. This makes it lighter than both RPK-74 and RPKS-74. A side mounted sight rail is fitted as standard and only a folding stock model is available.
