Ballast tractor variant of the MAZ-537 produced limited numbers from 1964 to 1966 at the MAZ factory. This variant was not produced at KZKT when the production line for the MAZ-537 moved there. The MAZ-537A can be identified by early model cabin, original MAZ chassis with sloped front section, large rear flatbed area and the absence of a winch. Various sources wrongfully indicate that a winch was fitted.
Ballast tractor truck based on the MAZ-537G version with winch and modernized cab and engine cover. Although this vehicle can be used to two full trailers, the main purpose is as a pushback and unditching vehicle on airports. For this reason the KZKT-537L features an extended non-sloped chassis that extends forward of the cab. Large towing eyes are located at the front and rear. The rear flatbed is smaller than found on the MAZ-537A
The MAZ-537A was derived from the MAZ-537 tractor truck. The KZKT-537L was based on the improved MAZ-537G tractor truck with winch.
