Description
Introduction
The DZJ08 is a modern era rocket launcher of Chinese origin. It is a single shot weapon that is disposed of after firing. Compared to the earlier PF89 series the DZJ08 is reportedly replacing the DZJ08 is safer to operate but is also heavier.
Design
DZJ08 is a single use disposable rocket launcher. It uses the Davis countershot principle making it safe to fire in small enclosed spaces like buildings and trenches. The downside is that the countershot mechanism adds weight. An optical sight is fitted. The foldable pistol grip cocks the trigger mechanism. The DZJ08 is operated by a single person, with multiple weapons to be carried by a squad.
Firepower
The DZJ08 comes in several variants with different warheads. These include a bunker buster warhead, penetrating fragmentation warhead and tandem HEAT warhead. Effective range is reported as 300 meters.
Users
The DZJ08 and its variants are in service with China. Reportedly these are a replacement for the PF89 family of rockets.
