Description

Introduction

The RMB-93 is a pump-action shotgun of Russian origin. It was developed for law enforcement use in the early 1990's. The RMB-93 is a rather unique weapon with tubular magazine above the barrel and forward motion pump-action system.

Design

The RMB-93 is derived from the Rys series of shotguns for civilian use. These shotguns are notable for their forward pump-action motion. The tubular magazine is located over the barrel. The double action trigger and manual safety allow for a shell to be carried in the chamber. The stock can be stowed by folding it over the tubular magazine.

Firepower

The RMB-93 fires 12ga shotgun shells with a case length of 2.75 or 3 inch, with the former more common in Russian service. The tubular magazine holds seven 2.75-inch shells or six 3-inch shells. The low axis of the barrel is reported to result in good recoil control.

Users

The RMB-93 was acquired in limited numbers by Russian law enforcement. It was also available for export.
